The abbey of Montecassino | The abbey of MontecassinoThis important symbol of Christianity was razed to the ground during the last war but then perfectly rebuilt. Places to visit: the monastery and the Basilica, the three cloisters (Sant’Anna, the one at the entrance and the central one), the Paradise loggia, the sepulchre of San Benedetto and Santa Scolastica, the wooden choir and the monastery museum. It is part of the circuit of the 4 abbeys along with Trisulti, Casamari and Subiaco. |
